Culture that is you! Yes, you, the 12.500 members of our 320 associations, the 5.400 students in our School of Music with our 200 part-time lecturers, yes, culture that is you! And this entire beautiful world well deserves our recognition, our great esteem, our sincerest thanks for this substantial cultural contribution in the course of last year and all our encouragement and support for the projects of the current year. The brochure that you are holding in your hands explicitly reflects the multiple cultural activities of our federation, the key events in our School of Music and the major elements of our friendly society. A panoply of prestigious performances, amazing moments, unforgettable memories and most important information. With the signing of 12 agreements on border cooperation at Bourglinster Castle, the UGDA has just built a network of cooperation in the Greater Region, reaching even parts of Italy, providing our associations the opportunity to organize exchanges with entities and cultural associations of the Greater Region, without going through the national federations to promote the activities of the youth, to promote the integration of our fellow citizens and to support the training of our cultural actors. The mandolin and guitar festival, which has provided the framework for this act of signature, so wonderfully reflects the practical implementation of these cross-border cooperation contracts and highlights the great competence and exemplary commitment of the Mandolin Company "Lyre" de Godbrange. A first in the Grand Duchy that deserves our attention! And the merits are not the least, on the contrary, when we think of musical "Simmer Fluch," a co-production of the National Youth Service and our Music School. One hundred young people have demonstrated their talent and were repeatedly applauded for exceptional services. ‘Musical Revue’, documentation centre, exchange and flow of information are the keywords of a perfect organization, just as youth training, youth work and youth exchange are the guarantees of cultural life in full evolution. Always listening to the cultural world, the UGDA commits itself entirely to develop new events, such as "Beaufort Castle in concert", or to participate in events like the "Letzebuerger Lidderfouer". The renewal should be one of our priorities. Building a modern future on past experiences, ensuring the integration of the cultures of our people, will certainly be a noble mission for our federation. Culture for all, combined with the European mind, will find its chance unquestionably during our next European presidency and will certainly be an opportunity to promote our cultural heritage, of which we are among the main defenders. Thanks to all actors, managers and decision-makers for your commitment, support and know-how. Thank you for all these unforgettable cultural instants. Thank you to you all, because culture is you.
